Sonia’s Crazy Life

Gavin has kindly changed the colour of my site from yellow (which I didn’t like) to purple. He has also added one or two links. Nice to see it is being maintained - I think he wants me to keep adding things this time! Thank you.

Today was the day we got our results - thankfully I passed with 68% so I am pretty pleased. I am now motivated to get on with my last two assignments!

I was unable to get to placement today which is not good as I will have to make up the time at some point. Hopefully I helped to relieve the congestion as Michelle took several hours to get there, and I am also going to utilise my time doing my assignments and getting them sent off for feedback before I next go to placement on Sunday.

What a nightmare! Obviously the problems I have had with the flooding is nothing compared to those homes that have 3ft of water in them or those who have lost there life. It has still been very disruptive and scary at times. It started on Monday when it took me and Michelle over 5 and half hours to get home from Castle Hill Hospital - we managed to get to Cranswick which was a miracle itself, but then every which way we turned we could not get to Driffield in Michelle’s Corsa….we tried the main road 2ft plus deep, Skerne, Wansford, North Frodingham, Southburn no way through. After all this effort Michelle’s Dad and work colleagues kindly rescued us and took us home via Southburn in a big transit van. I then came home to a flooded driveway and back garden. I really never thought such flooding was possible here are some pics:

Gayle and Glen are having a baby! There baby is due in October/November - I think the official date that has been given is the 1st November, 2007. I have a few pics of Gayle looking a little pregnant and a lovely scan of their bundle of joy.

I am only 8 weeks away from completing my last placement - which by the way is brilliant I am really enjoying working full time hours on a children’s surgical ward. I have however, lost enthusiasm for my assignments and just struggling to get motivated for my last two assignment which are due to be handed in September. And yes that will be it I will have completed three years training to be a children’s nurse. Here are a couple of pics from last year when some of our group did some teaching sessions:

I feel as though I have neglected to show how lovely our cats are. I also appreciate just how soft, gentle and calm cats are since we have had Woody. They use to drive me mad with all their hair everywhere….I have given up caring that the house is in a mess since we got woody! Here are a few pics of Forest and Baloo:

Today has been a really idyllic day…Woody has been exceptionally well behaved and he is everything I could have wanted in my years of wanting a dog. We have been to the beach today - unfortunately no camera today but there are a few pics of when we have been to the beach before with him.

People have requested pics of Amy and because Amy is so lovely I have included one or two pictures of her. My favourite is the one of Andrea and Amy together they look so happy.

I had forgotten what to do! I have been reminded and hopefully this time will keep my little site up to date!
